The Definition of Love in Plato's Symposium

"Love can not be beautiful because it is the desire to possess what is beautiful, and one can not desire that which one already possessess."

"That love is nothing good in itself, but merely a means to the attainment of things that are good in themselves."

蘇格拉底最後也提到.

"Human nature can find no better helper than love."

這幾句話的意思是
愛並不美麗，因為那是永無止境去追求美麗的一種慾望，而並非可以去擁有的一種慾望。

愛並不好，
不過以達到目標的手段來說是好的。

在人的天性裡，
愛情是最好的幫手。
